Opening night at TD Garden is something I need to experience. It doesn't get much better than 20 of my favorite people (that I've never met) slamming people into boards while thousands of people in sweaty jerseys get drunk off cheap beer and scream their heads off. That's my kind of place. But watching it from the comfort of my home is almost as good. I get to sit with my dogs, I don't have to wait in massive lines to pee, and whatever I want to eat or drink is right there. But experiencing the Garden is so much better than watching it on TV. In case you missed it,
Chris Kelly opens scoring up in the first period on a penalty shot. Not going to lie, I thought he lost it. Then there's a little bit of back and forth, resulting in both an Iggy and a Thorty fight. Way win over the hearts of Bruins fan Iggy. It worked for me. Pittsburgh who? Shove it up your ass Crosby, he belongs to Boston now.

Just In Case..
So Bruins season starts tonight, and in case you're a fan but have been living under a rock all summer, here's what you missed:
We got this superstar:
in exchange for this.. ehh player (or at least the past few years, get off my back)
We also signed these two beasts:
for eight more years. Our team looks better on paper than it did last year, and many projections show us taking the East, and some say the Cup (knock on wood). Let's hope so.

So Are the Pats 4-0 or 0-4?
Well first things first, the media needs to give it a break with the "Patriots are awful" talk. Like, yeah we get it. They haven't been as dominant as they could be. They didn't assault the Jets like they absolutely should have and the Falcons almost came back. But guess what? They're 4-0.
The roster they have right now is almost laughable. I'll put it in perspective for you. They currently have 14 rookies on the roster, 7 of whom were undrafted. The other 7, with the exception of Aaron Dobson, were pretty late picks. Mostly unknowns. And here the Patriots are with a roster stacked full of them. Some of these guys have actually been pretty impressive in the short time we've seen them.
This is what I love about Bill Belichick, though. This is why he is one of the greatest coaches in the world. He's taking chances on these kids. He's giving them a shot. Last night against the Falcons, Matthew Mulligan caught a TD pass from Brady. Yeah, who the hell is Matthew Mulligan? Don't know, but he was given a shot and he capitalized. (Turns out he's a 28 year old out of UMaine who floats around the league on practice squads.)
The team has been plagued by injury and Vince Wilfork having a torn achilles is the last thing the Pats needed, but they seem to have a lot of fight in them. Hopefully Gronk and Amendola will be back next week to help Brady out and take some pressure off the young guys.

Always A Bruin To Me
The news came out a few minutes ago and I literally could not be any happier... Andrew Ference was named the 14th captain in Edmonton Oilers history!!
Not only does this veteran 100% deserve this honor, he grew up in Edmonton as an Oilers fan, so to him he must be living the dream. I cannot even contain my happiness for him, because I know that he deserves this. And it makes me even a little happier that Edmonton fans are pissed about it. I'm sorry, puck sluts, Taylor Hall has been in the league 10 years less than Ference, he is in no position to become their leader. He probably only has an A because he's half decent. But he cannot bring the same amount of experience and leadership to the locker room that Ference can. So congratulations Andrew Ference, and even though you're a captain somewhere else, you'll always be a Bruin to me. Thank you for all that you did for our team and our city, and good luck in Edmonton.
